Data resource
TwinsUK is an active longitudinal study since 1992 and which also operates as a biobank. The resource holds data and samples which are available to bonafide researchers from all over the world through formal request applications to the TwinsUK Resource Executive Committee (TREC). This governance committee reviews and approves these applications on a monthly basis. The resource shares data and samples on a cost recovery basis only. Occasionally we may provide full open access to a very limited number of phenotypes and very specific datasets. Additionally, we deposit data on UK LLC platform which can be made available via request to the UK LLC and TREC.

Mission

TwinsUK is dedicated to advancing scientific understanding and innovation in older adult healthspan and resilience. Our mission is to leverage our unique cohort of longitudinal data to uncover the biological, social and environmental factors that promote health and recovery in older adults. By translating this research into practical interventions and policies, we aim to improve health outcomes and quality of life for ageing populations.
