Organizational History

In 2020, the Wellcome Trust commissioned Arcta Solutions, a software house specialising in medical software, to build an open-source LIMS specifically designed to address the problems outlined in the opening section, with the intention of making the product and source code freely available to LMIC laboratories with limited financial and technical resources. The result is SEDRI LIMS (Surveillance and Epidemiology of Drug Resistant Infections Laboratory Information Management System), an open-source LIMS specialising in microbiology, with flexibility, extensibility and ease-of-use amongst its key design goals.
