TSOSI (Transparency to sustain open science infrastructure) is a recent data platform launched in June 2025. It is designed to make visible which organizations financially support open science infrastructure. TSOSI started with data from five essential infrastructures: DOAJ, DOAB, SciPost, PeerCommunityIn, and OPERAS. The web platform tsosi.org allows everyone to see who has contributed to what. Since its launch, TSOSI has continuously integrated data from infrastructures, institutions, and consortia. Along the way, TSOSI is building the open science funding graph, which links organizations, consortia, institutions, and funders to open infrastructures. TSOSI aims to facilitate the transition to a place where supporting open infrastructures becomes the norm.

Mission

The practical mission of TSOSI is to shed light on the financial support provided to open infrastructures, and thereby linking institutions, consortia, and funding agencies to open infrastructures. TSOSI aims to place open science support in the foreground. By publicizing such support, TSOSI's seeks to enhance the decision-making process regarding funding open infrastructures. TSOSI aims to make support for open infrastructures the norm.

Additional Information

Organizational History

The project started in September 2024, led by the Université Grenoble Alpes and is made available thanks to the support from the French Committee for Open Science. The web platform was launched in June 2025 with data from 5 essential infrastructures: DOAB, DOAJ, PeerCommunityIn, SciPost, and OPERAS. The very idea of TSOSI is that if a responsible for a budget can explore which institutions have supported which open infrastructures, then the decision to support them would become more evident. An inaugural webinar took place in June 2025 to publicize the opening of the web platform. The webinar brought together 10 expert speakers and more than 80 participants. A summary of the inaugural webinar is available online: https://blog.tsosi.org/post/2025-11-05-feedback-inaugural-webinar/
