Governance Summary

The international Human Cell Atlas consortium is supported by two not-for-profit organisations, HCA Inc. and HCA Stichting, incorporated under the laws of the United States and The Netherlands, respectively. HCA Inc. and HCA Stichting are independent organisations but work together to ensure compliance with national and international data protection regulations and to provide sustainable financial management for the HCA Executive Office.
Formulation and oversight of the scientific mission of HCA remains the purview of the HCA Organising Committee (OC), a volunteer body of approximately 30 scientists from around the world.
