Since 2006, Internet Archive’s Archive-It has provided web archiving and digital collection services to over 1,300 organizations in over 40 countries, including libraries, colleges and universities, cultural heritage organizations, governments, social impact nonprofits, open knowledge initiatives, and others. Archive-it users have preserved over 100 billion born-digital, web-published records, totaling tens of petabytes of data.
Archive-It provides a web application as well as tools, training, and technical support for archiving, preserving, and making available archived web-published materials, including a full-featured public access platform for partners to share their collections. Data archived via Archive-It is stored in nonprofit data centers owned and operated by the Internet Archive. Together, Archive-It users and the Internet Archive are furthering the shared ethos of ensuring perpetual access to diverse and historically-relevant digital collections from around the world.
